“Why Didn’t I Think of That?” Wednesday
There have been many great finds over on Pinterest this week. And some of them make you just stop and think “why didn’t I think of that”? I will feature some of those pins here, linking to the Pinterest pin. I keep playing around with the format here a bit. I’m not wanting to step on any toes by including the pics here, and I want you to be able to pin the original pins, so I will be linking directly to the pins that I have on my “Why Didn’t I Think of That?” board. Feel free to head … Continue reading
Gluten-free Snickers Cupcakes
Before having to eat a gluten-free diet, my first choice for candy bar would probably be a Coffee Crisp. Mmm…those chocolate bars are special to me because my Grandma would occasionally treat us with a Coffee Crisp when we were at her place. But now, Coffee Crisp bars are off the list so I had to find a new favorite candy bar. That wasn’t difficult; when I found out that Snickers bars are gluten-free, they were an obvious choice. Peanuts. Caramel. Chocolate. Nougat. They are like the 4 ‘food groups’ of the candy world. And if you like a Snickers … Continue reading
New Feature ~ Friday Finds: Second-hand Scores
Hey everyone, and welcome here! Yesterday on the Baking Beauties Facebook page we were talking about garage sales and finding great second hand items. I loved seeing that so many of you love the hunt for great used items as much as I do! And some of you had some seriously amazing finds too, wow! Remind me to never go second-hand shopping with any of you, I have a feeling I’d end up walking away empty handed. I LOVE going to the thrift stores and garage sales. Unfortunately, because of our short summers, we only have garage sales for a … Continue reading

If you’d like an invite to join Pinterest, let me know! THIS is going to be one of the first things I try – how to grown your own cilantro. I’ve tried in the past, and had it … Continue reading

Celebrate Cinco de Mayo – Gluten Free
I’m not that much of a fan of celebrating holidays, especially those that really have nothing to do with me. But, with it can involve delicious food, well, get out the maracas, I’m ready to party! Oddly enough, Cinco de Mayo (or 5th of May) is mainly celebrated in the United States, and only in regions of Mexico. Might I add to that list, regions of Canada as well, as we plan on having some delicious Mexican food tomorrow as well. Not so much because it’s a celebration, but well, it’s delicious food. Enchiladas, tacos, rice & beans are all … Continue reading

Gluten-free Baked Chocolate Doughnuts
There are very few things that I miss after being diagnosed with Celiac disease. Oh, I admit, the first number of months were difficult. Very hard, in fact. But when I started working in the kitchen and converting my favorite recipes to gluten-free, that all slowly faded away. I don’t get fazed when I walk through a bakery anymore. Although the smell of the fresh baked breads can pull a person in, I no longer feel deprived because I am unable to buy any of it. I can walk past all the beautiful artisan breads, and baguettes, and not feel … Continue reading
