Real Women of Philadelphia – Entree Entries
Alright, so this contest has taken a lot of my time the past 4 weeks, with another 4 weeks to go. I’m still busy with food, but now it’s food that is being prepared on camera, which takes a lot longer when you have to film it, and edit it, enter it, and constantly try to come up with new ideas. But, it’s been fun, and I’ve met so many other women that have a passion for working with food, it has been a very positive experience (would be even more positive if I made it as a finalist). However, … Continue reading →
Yummy Honey Chicken Kabobs
Today I’m going to be working on the Gluten-Free Holiday Baking e-book, but before I get to that, I wanted to throw out another grilling recipe for you (gotta quickly do that before the snow flies!). These kabobs were GOOD! And so simple to do too. We like to make a batch of rice pilaf , put it all on a large platter, and top it with the grilled kabobs and veggies. All in one big platter, kind of like ordering family style in a restaurant. I would have liked to add some pineapple chunks to the skewers, but my … Continue reading →
Greek-Style Turkey Burgers
OK, I admit it. I’ve fallen behind. I have a few recipes for the grill, but our weather here, isn’t so grill friendly anymore. But, maybe we’ll still have a few warm days where you are, to get out and try out these recipes. I’m sure they’d work great on an indoor grill or grilling pan too, if you have one. We really liked these burgers. The gluten-eaters ate their on a bun, but I had mine topped with a slice of feta cheese, cucumbers, sliced red onion and tomato. Tasty! They are really low in fat, a good protein, … Continue reading →
Dry Steak Rub
With Labour Day quickly approaching (who said summer could go this quickly this year??), I know that a lot of you will be firing up your grills this coming weekend. If you want to have a superb steak, you definitely need to try this flavourful steak rub. This rub is full of great herbs & spices, and gives a fantastic flavour to your steaks. We used to marinade all of our steaks, but this summer, we’ve been mixing up a batch of this rub whenever we grill. You mix in larger quantities, if you wanted to, but we usually do … Continue reading →
Best BBQ Chicken
Wow, talk about putting pressure on a recipe, huh? Calling it “The Best”. Well, lucky for this chicken, this recipe lives up to it’s name. I have barbecued chicken many, many times in the past 10 years. I’ve marinated & basted in a variety of different ingredients. However, I’ve never done my chicken this way before. I would have never thought to season the chicken, grill it, and then lather it with a wonderful homemade barbecue sauce. This was a first for me, but it will definitely not be the last. Grilling the chicken this way was fast and extremely … Continue reading →

Grilled Chicken Breast with Barbecue Glaze
The perfect end to a summer day is taking part in a great barbecued supper. I think I like the fact that grilling doesn’t warm up the house, and there are very little dishes that need to be washed. I like to marinade all my meats in resealable plastic bags. Just put all the marinade ingredients into the bag, seal it and squeeze it with your hands to mix the ingredients together. Then add your meat, seal it, and let it marinade. When I’m finished with it, I just toss it in the garbage. Easy clean up!
