Gluten Free Beer Battered Fish

beerbatteredfish

I’m not sure what came over me. I wanted beer battered fish. Or rather, I wanted to try to make gluten-free beer battered fish. I’m thankful that I’m not scared to try things in the kitchen, if they work, FANTASTIC, if not, well, we’ll try again another time. This was one of those instances. I’d never even bought gluten free beer before, but I knew that the last time I’d been at the liquor store I asked them about it, just out of curiosity. They did have one brand that I could buy in individual bottles, and so that is … Continue reading

Real Women of Philadelphia – Entree Entries

creamydillsalmon

Alright, so this contest has taken a lot of my time the past 4 weeks, with another 4 weeks to go. I’m still busy with food, but now it’s food that is being prepared on camera, which takes a lot longer when you have to film it, and edit it, enter it, and constantly try to come up with new ideas. But, it’s been fun, and I’ve met so many other women that have a passion for working with food, it has been a very positive experience (would be even more positive if I made it as a finalist). However, … Continue reading

Grilled Tilapia with a Mango Salsa

grilledtilapiawmango

I was so impressed with this recipe, I just had to share. It is a recipe that I got from AllRecipes.com, I don’t think I even changed it up at all. And that is very uncommon for me, I usually have to change a recipe. This one, however, looked perfect to me on paper, and on my plate as well. We really, really enjoyed it. Topping your fish was salsa is a fantastic way to get a healthy protein, plus more fruits/veggies into your diet. If hope you’ll give this quick dinner a try sometime, I don’t think you’ll be … Continue reading

Quick and Easy Salmon with Dill

salmonwithdill

When trying to answer the dreaded “What’s for supper” question, I usually run down a mental check list. It goes something like this: What do I have in the house? Do I have the time to make it? Will the kids eat it? Does it have any nutritional value? When it comes to frozen salmon fillets, as long as #1 is answered yes, it can easily be on our table in less than 1/2 hour and everyone will be happy. My kids actually both loves salmon, and they like it when it make it simple. No maple sauce (although that … Continue reading

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

broiledtalapiaparmesan

We are trying to eat a little healthier lately, and trying to change things up a bit more. The kids both like fish, but I’m always trying to find different ways to prepare it. This recipe actually got “Yum”s from everyone. From the oldest to the youngest, we were all surprised at how good this tasted. I will definitely be making this recipe again, it was so simple, quick & delicious, all 3 are important in my books.

This was really, really good, and really, really quick too! The simplest of flavour combinations, but oh, so tasty!

Grilled Salmon

THIS is the way I love my salmon grilled! Although I am also a fan of the classic lemon & dill on the cedar plank (will do that later this summer), I really like the way this tasted. I will definitely make this again!
